FIR Sauna Therapy

What Is FIR
A FIR Sauna sometimes confuses people in just what does FIR stand for. FIR is an abreviation for infrared which is a band of light that sun gives off. This band of light cannot be seen by the human eye and is one of the healthiest bands of light for us humans. The infrared band is a heat source that cannot be touched or seen.

Infrared light has nothing to do with ultraviolet light which damages your skin and gives you sunburns.

Temperature
The temperature in an infrared sauna is usually in the range of 70(F) to 120(F) while in a traditional steam sauna the temperature is 180(F) to 220(F). This is because the infrared are not heating the air around you but is heating you.

The heat being generated is a by product of the infrared rays being generated which is very beneficial to your body. Only about 20% of the FIR waves heat the air and the rest is absorbed by the body.

Why Is Infrared Beneficial
The infrared rays penetrate deep into the body causing your metabolism to kick in. When this occurs, your inner body heats up causing your circulation to increase. The water molecules begin to vibrate which reduces the bonds toxins have. When this happens your muscles and your organs are stimulated. Then you begin to sweat releasing the toxins.

Exercise
Being in an FIR Sauna is exercising your body, only you are sitting down. Your metabolism is increased along with your heart rate. Your arteries and skin pores are opened up and your blood pressure goes up very little, if at all. Taking a 30 minute sauna is equal to walking briskly for 3 miles. This also burns up to 600 calories which help you lose weight.

Benefits
Because of all the toxins absorbed through the skin many of our skin pores do not operate properly. When your inner core heats up blood is pushed toward the skin rejuvenating the largest organ on your body.

When your inner core is heated up and blood circulation increases many things happen that are only beneficial to you. Daily use can reduce your blood pressure, kill viruses and bacteria, help joints, reduce pain, kill abnormal cells, rejuvenate the skin.

Placement and Power requirements
The infrared saunas can be placed in any room because no drain is necessary. They are also quite attractive which can enhance any room. They are not made to be placed outside in the weather.

The power is a 110/120 which is the common plug in any bodys house.

Starting Out
You should start your sessions for only 15 to 20 minutes a day. After two or three weeks increase your time by five minute increments for two or three weeks up to a max of 40 minutes. Do not drink fluids while in the sauna. This is because you want your body to expel fluids through sweating.

After you get out of your sauna drink a big glass of water and relax for at least 15 minutes. Do not start strenuous exercising or physical labor.

My Self
My home FIR saunaI own an FIR Sauna and use it five or six times a week. Pictured on the left is a picture of my sauna. I personally stay in for 30 minute sessions. I seem to have fewer colds and general ailments since I started using my sauna. When I get out of my sauna, I truly feel relaxed. I always feel rejuvenated when I get out.

Closing
An FIR Sauna will be one of the best investments you can buy toward improving your health and your families health. Having a family sauna gives you some quality time with the people you love. Have friends over and offer them a sauna. They will really be impressed.
